Why do leaves change from green to yellow, orange, and red when fall arrives? Come uncover some of the forest’s secrets while letting your creativity run free!

The activity will begin with an introduction led by Valérie from the Ruiter Valley Land Trust, followed by a short observation hike through the forest.

Young participants will be encouraged to see the forest from a new perspective and discover the variety of shapes, textures, and colours that surround them. Leaves, branches, bark, fruits, and other natural elements will become their sources of inspiration.

With pencils in hand, they will create a few sketches before moving on to the creative workshop. They will discover how natural materials such as rocks, plants, and resins can be transformed into unique pigments and paints.

They will then use their creations to make a small painting on wood inspired by their observations.

At the end of the activity, all the artwork will be brought together to create a true mosaic of the forest!

Who is it for? Families and children ages 5 to 16. Young children must be accompanied by an adult.
